Freshers 2017

Welcome to THE essential page for fresher’s looking for Frisbee

Firstly, make sure to check out our promo video (We spent a lot of time on it!).

Secondly, if you are looking for a new sport, a way to keep fit, or just a place to go on adventures while meeting new people, this is the club for you. If you are a beginner don’t worry! The majority of people have not even considered frisbee before Uni. Everyone is at the same level. It’s a really rewarding experience this way, as you all learn together and help each other improve! If you have played ultimate before University we also have many competitive opportunities available for you.

Thirdly, frisbee players are incredibly friendly (except UBU, but we don’t talk about them) and Bears are some of the nicest people you will find on Campus and we have a packed social calendar with weekly socials. The taster sessions are a great way to meet new people, even if you decide to not continue playing.

Now some actual Frisbee stuff,

Basic Rules:

  • Can’t move with the disc
  • Non-Contact
  • Score a point by catching the disc in the Endzone.
  • Teams of 7 for Outdoors, and Teams of 5 for Indoors.

There are other rules too, but that’s the basics. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to throw or catch the disc, we will teach you all that and more!

Still Interested?! Great!

Come and meet us at one of our open to all taster sessions to try the sport first hand, at the Sports fair or as part of the sports day at the end of week 2! Be sure to keep your eyes open for beginners tournaments too which are a fantastic chance to have some fun trying the sport whilst really getting to know a whole team of new people.

Make sure you join our facebook group here to stay updated.

You may also like to check out our YouTube channel, our Facebook page, or even our Twitter for all the Warwick Bears social media you might need! If you’ve never played the sport before and would like to see some high quality footage, be sure to watch some professional videos!
