Week 1 complete and what a week it was!

Starting Ultimate last year I never knew how I would respond to having a long spell away from the sport, but after a week of getting back into the swing of things, everything is back to normal and better than ever!

It is all about the FRESHERS for the first few weeks and as I was in charge of attracting them to our club it was a big week for me. Thankfully, three huge taster sessions later and over 60 new members in our Facebook Group, I can safely say that I am excited for the year ahead with a new group to train and befriend. Hopefully, the freshers have enjoyed the sessions as much as we have and have caught the frisbee bug, with the beginner tournaments around the corner it is a great time to be a new member of the Warwick Bears.

This is the first year the sport will have Wednesday BUCS fixtures and it has meant intensity from the off! After over 10 hours of training this week, topped off with a great session with Lemmings, I have picked up where I left off at Tour 2 and am excited to learn and develop more. Our first game against Oxford being a mere 4 weeks away it is all about keeping up the fitness, throwing and training both Adam (VC) and Romit (C) have drilled into us to ensure a positive result.

Week 2 looks to be as busy as ever with lots more taster sessions, our first social and a beginner tournament on the weekend! I remember going along to as many events as I could last year and it is a great way to make friends with all members of the club, whatever year they are in, so come along to as much as you can!

This is how keen I was last year!

This is how keen I was last year!

Anyway, I should probably start thinking about my dissertation now after a week of ULTIMATE FRISBEE!

Hope you all had a great week!
